Jaye K. Stover, Sr., 91, of Sour Lake, Texas passed away at home with family, on Tuesday,
March 12, 2024 at 12:45 a.m.
Mr.Stover was born August 14, 1932 in Woolridge, Missouri, the son of Omar
Leslie and Verna Mae Musick Stover.
He is survived by his brother, Marty Stover, Booneville, Mo., daughters, Alisa (Bill Blackmore)
Guynn of St. Joseph, Il., Elaina Lee, of Sour Lake, Tx and Christine Stover of Urbana, Il.,
numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, 5 brothers; Stanley, Huber, Dempsey,
Jerome and Stewart Stover. His son, Jaye K. Stover, Jr, granddaughter, Jamie Stover, and
great-grandson, Cody Green.
Mr. Stover worked for and retired from AT&T as a cable splicer. He never missed a day of work
in 38 years and was given the Theodore N. Vail Medal on August 2, 1960, for saving a young
woman's life, who was involved in a car accident.
Mr. Stover enjoyed hunting, fishing, participating in fishing tournaments, telling jokes and doing
tricks, which he enjoyed and loved showing children how to do. He was an active member of
Growing in Christ’s Image church, in Sour Lake.
There will be no local services; a family burial will be held in September 2024 at Woolridge,
Missouri.
