Jody James Jorgensen, 58, of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Beaumont.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the service at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the KC Hall in Port Neches. There will be no alcohol allowed.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on March 7, 1967, he was the son of Oliver Jean Jorgensen and Patricia Thomas Jorgensen. Jody studied business at Lamar University and became a man of diverse interests and deep passions. He found joy in the great outdoors, embracing activities such as fishing and hunting, which allowed him to connect with nature and share those moments with loved ones. He had a particular fondness for boiling crawfish, bringing together friends and family to share great food and laughter. His love for gardening and cooking reflected his nurturing spirit and desire to create beauty for those around him. A committed volunteer, Jody dedicated countless hours to serving his community and the Lord. His involvement in various organizations, including the Knights of Columbus Port Neches, Rotary Club of Port Neches, Chamber of Commerce of Port Neches, Planning and Zoning Committee of Port Neches, RiverFest of Port Neches Committee, and Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church of Port Neches, illustrated his dedication to making a difference and improving the lives of others. Jody was not only a proud member of these organizations but also a great friend and mentor to many. He possessed a unique ability to listen to others and offer guidance through life's challenges, he truly embodied the role of a supportive figure in his community. His experience as a coach in children's sports extended beyond the field; he was also a teacher of life lessons, inspiring young minds and hearts with his wisdom. In the world of business, Jody shone brightly as a great salesman and businessman, demonstrating integrity and a genuine passion for helping others succeed. However, it was his role as a father that he cherished most deeply. Jody was a wonderful father, fostering a loving environment for his son while sharing his wealth of knowledge and life's lessons with him. As we remember Jody, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to both family and community. His legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Patricia Jorgensen.
He is survived by his son, Cory James Jorgensen and his fiancée, Alexandra Pennington; his grandson, Bradley James Jorgensen, his brother, Hans Jorgensen and wife, Donna; his sister, Debbie Romero and husband, Kelly; his nephews and nieces, Jean Jorgensen and wife, Tracy, Alexandra King and husband, Craig, Nick Romero, and Casey Romero and wife, Rachel.
