Kenneth Lee Chandler

October 19, 1953 — October 5, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Lee Chandler, age 70, a beloved father, grandfather, son, uncle, and true friend. The Cowboy Ken, as he was affectionately known, was born on October 19, 1953, and left this world on October 5, 2024, in Groves, Texas, near his lifelong home of Orange, Texas. Celebration of life services will be held for Ken on October 28, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Orange Boating Club.

Ken was a man of rebel spirit, always marching to the beat of his own drum, often played loud. His natural desire to help people was evident to everyone who knew him. Whether he was lending a handgun to a neighbor or offering guidance to a friend, Ken's generosity and kindness knew no bounds.

Ken had a love for fishing and hunting, often finding peace and solace by the water. He also had an appreciation for beauty, never hesitating to admire the pretty women he encountered in his life, however, that appreciation wasn’t always reciprocated by their husbands. In addition to fishing and hunting for bass, cats and cougars, Ken loved to cook for those he cared about. Weekly he had a pot of beans and a pan of cornbread to offer his friends and family.

Ken is survived by his devoted daughter, Donna Marie ‘ReRe’ Chandler-Mather, and his loving son, Justin Lee Chandler. His legacy continues through his three cherished grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Ken also leaves behind two nephews, one niece, and a host of friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Judy Marlene Chandler. Their bond was unbreakable, and they are now reunited in eternity. Ken was also preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Ray Chandler, his brother Glenn ‘Hoyt’ Chandler, and his sister Linda ‘Maudine’ Kelley.

Ken's memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love that remains. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering independence.

Rest in peace, Ken. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
