Rebecca "Becky" Ann Tabor

May 17, 1954 — January 2, 2025

Port Neches, Texas

Rebecca “Becky” Ann Tabor, 70, peacefully passed away on January 2, 2025, at her residence in Port Neches, Texas. Becky was born on May 17, 1954, in Oakland, California, to Ellen Ruth and Nyle Robert DeWitt of Talbotton, Georgia. She graduated early in 1971 from Kendrick High School in Columbus, Georgia, and married the love of her life, Allen, on June 3, 1972.

Becky attended Lamar University in Port Arthur, where she graduated in 1990 with an Associate of Science degree in Registered Nursing. Afterward, she worked at Park Place Hospital in Port Arthur, specializing in Labor and Delivery. Later, she joined M.A.S.H. (now Baptist Hospital) in Beaumont. Becky took great joy in assisting in the birth of hundreds of babies. She then transitioned to UTMB Galveston, which allowed her to work as a travel nurse across Texas. With the support of her devoted husband, Allen, she continued to help others and bring joy to new mothers throughout the state.

Beyond her nursing career, Becky was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland, Texas. She built a strong, unwavering relationship with Jesus Christ, which inspired her to travel on missionary trips abroad to spread the word of God. She also cherished her deep connections with fellow church members with whom she traveled for church conventions and personal trips.

Becky was a woman of creativity, particularly crocheting, knitting, and quilting. She lovingly knitted names for family and friends, which are now treasured in many homes. Her passion for quilting blossomed both at home and with a group of ladies from her church, allowing her to share her talents. Through these crafts, she enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Becky was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Wilfred Allen Tabor; father, Nyle Robert DeWitt; grandson, Jordan Andrew Tabor; and granddaughter, Olivia Ellen Tabor.

She is survived by her son, Brian Tabor and his wife, Toby; daughter, Jennifer Fey and her husband, Troy; son, Aaron Tabor and his wife, Erin; and her cherished grandchildren Nathan, Brycen, Brody, Leila, Cora, and Addison. She is also survived by her mother, Ellen DeWitt; sister, Mary Fritz; brother, Robert DeWitt; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland, Texas. The service will be officiated by Dr. Jordan Rogers.
