Rose Marguriette Gardner

Rose Marguriette Gardner, 70, of Silsbee, Texas, passed away on October 1, 2024, at home.

Born in Pasadena, Texas, on February 16, 1954, she was the daughter of Herman C. Mills and Oleta (Clements) Mills. Marguriette graced this world with her warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of who knew her. As a Dietary Supervisor, she contributed her love for food and health, ensuring that others thrived in their well-being. Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond the workplace, as she also ran a home daycare, where she embraced the joys of babysitting. To many children she looked after, she was not just a caretaker but a beloved MeMaw, a figure of comfort and affection who enriched their lives with her nurturing touch. She took great pride in being a MeMaw to all her grandkids (yes, all 12 of them) including the newest addition making her a first time Great MeMaw. She would spend hours chatting about life, giving the best advice, and cracking jokes.

In her personal time, Marguriette savored the simple pleasures of life. She found joy in crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that were shared with family and friends, each stitch woven with love. She loved nothing more than long drives, where she could feel the wind in her hair and the music of Elvis serenading her soul. Family was the cornerstone of Marguriette’s existence. She loved her family deeply, cherishing every moment spent together, whether it was in laughter, conversation, or quiet companionship. Her legacy of love will continue to resonate within the hearts of those she held dear, as they remember her as a pillar of strength, a source of comfort, and a beacon of joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Oleta Mills; brother, Leslie Mills; and niece, Amie Fults.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, James Gardner; children, Clint Mills, DyNaeé Bratcher and husband Garry, Melaine Taylor and husband Jake, Katie Sharp and husband Brad, Kelly Crowell and husband John, and Tiffany Carson and husband Michael; grandchildren, Kaylee Mills, Colt Mills, Dean Mills, David Dowlin, Devin Dowlin, Heidi Taylor, Brilynn Sharp, Haille Polichinia, Fairyn Carson, Evan Carson, Tyana Hudspeth, and Lillian Clayton; great grandchild, Ryder Hill; brother Bobby Mills and wife Alice; and other loving family and many friends.
