Born in Beaumont, Texas, on April 22, 1960, he was the son of Thomas Mann Nixon and Louanna Francis Nixon. A man of steadfast spirit and determination, Thomas's life was marked by his profound love for family, friends, and a multitude of passions that enriched both his life and the lives of those around him. A proud graduate of Hebert High School, Class of 1978, Thomas carried the values instilled in him throughout his youth into adulthood. He had a deep love for the outdoors, often finding joy while fishing—a pastime that allowed him to connect with nature and reflect on life’s simple pleasures. In addition to his love for fishing, he had a remarkable skill in welding, a craft that allowed him to showcase his creativity and craftsmanship. Thomas's journey through life was shaped by the resilience he displayed in overcoming challenges. As a dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous, he embraced sobriety with unwavering commitment for over 40 years. His triumph over his struggles enabled him to become a counselor, guiding others on their paths to recovery. His experience provided him with unique insights that he generously shared, touching the lives of many and becoming a beacon of hope within his community. Deeply rooted in his Catholic faith, Thomas found strength and guidance through his spirituality. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, informing his values and influencing his loving interactions with others. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Louanna Nixon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Donna Nixon; his children, Thomisha Nixon, Ken Lambert, Amber Wykoff, and Erica Lambert; his grandchildren, Jim, Ozzie, Rhys, Zeth, Kennlee, Ezra, Gabriel, and Allison; his sisters, Sandra Johnson, and Lisa Monette; his brother, Michael Nixon; and numerous other loving family members and friends,

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
