Wayne E. Thompson

Wayne Thompson, 86, of Beaumont, Texas, formally of Wildwood, Texas, and Tucson, Arizona passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
Born to Clarence and Edna Thompson in Vidor, Texas, Wayne was the first of their children and graduated from Vidor High School in 1956. He dedicated his career to the air conditioning and refrigeration industry, notably owning his own company, Amelia Air, before finishing his career working on offshore platforms, which allowed him the opportunity to travel the world.
He spent years volunteering and held many positions for Amelia Little League, where he met a multitude of lifelong friends. In his retirement years in Wildwood, he found joy in golfing and was an exceptional player in cards and dominoes.
Wayne’s pride and joy were his children. He is survived by his son, Travis and his wife Cindy Thompson of Tucson, Arizona; his baby girl Monique and her husband, Greg Lumpkin of China, Texas: and his stepchildren: Trent and his wife Joetta Leon, of Cedar Hill, Texas; Cambie Jenkins of Winnie, Texas; Paul Landrum of Nederland, Texas; Courtney Patranella of Vidor, Texas. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Erin and her husband Thomas Holyoak, Avery Thompson, Reese Thompson, Peyton Lumpkin, Parker Lumpkin, Shelby Stott, Joseph Landrum, and Triston Stott, along with his great-grandchildren: Mason and Caleb Holyoak. He is also survived by a large host of other family and friends who cherished him very much. Additionally, Wayne is survived by his siblings, Eva Stewart of Vidor, Texas; Charles “Butch” Thompson and his wife Glenda of Atascocita, Texas; Robert Thompson and his wife Martha of Rockhill, South Carolina.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Edna Thompson, great grandson, Ray Holyoak, and great nephew, Carter Thompson.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at College Street Healthcare and Best Hospice Care of Texas for their compassionate and unwavering care during his end of life. Waynes’s cremation is being handled by Claybar Funeral Home and the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on November 2, 2024 at 12:00pm at 1950 N. Broadway, Beaumont, Texas 77713.
Wayne will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
