Lori Lynn Briggs, 56, of Groves, Texas, passed away on May 14, 2026, at the Medical Center in Port Arthur.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on January 28, 1970, she was the daughter of Halphen Hugh Davis and Maddie Emily (Stanaland) Davis. Lori found immense joy in the great outdoors. Her favorite places were Martin Dies Jr. State Park and Mill Creek, where she loved fishing, walking trails, and simply being outside. She truly couldn't stand being indoors, finding her happiness under the open sky. She had a special place in her heart for animals, cherishing her beloved dogs Izzy, Tatortot, Mina, Nash, and Piper. For over 15 years, Lori dedicated herself to her role as a cross guard at Port Neches Middle School, where she was adored by the children she helped every day. Above all, Lori treasured her time with her children and grandchildren. Her family was incredibly close, often spending three out of seven days a week together, a testament to the strong bonds she fostered. Lori was an incredible woman and will be deeply missed by love those who loved and cherished her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Emily Davis; and brother, Morris Davis.

She is survived by her children, Emily Gonzales, Cresencio Gonzales, Jaden Briggs, Kaylin Gonzales, Alissa Gonzales; grandchildren, Autumn, Adrian, Holden Chris, Austin, Brooklyn; and brothers, Austin Davis, Mark Davis and Phillip Davis.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Simple Tributes in Orange.
